Who runs what at Chestatee: the club, the association and the county

The short answer

At Chestatee, golf goes to Chestatee Golf Club ((706) 216-7336). Dues, covenants and closing letters go to the homeowners association, Chestatee Community Association, Inc., managed by HMS (770-667-0595). Tax, permits and schools go to Dawson County, and docks to the Corps of Engineers. This guide is independent of all of them.

The club

Chestatee Golf Club, 777 Dogwood Way, (706) 216-7336, runs the golf course, tee times, lessons, outings and its own rates. It is a public club; its website is chestateegolfclub.com.

The homeowners association

The association is Chestatee Community Association, Inc., managed by Homeowner Management Services (HMS), 770-667-0595, HMS@HMS-inc.net. Dues, covenants, architectural requests and closing letters go there. The developer’s archived HOA page said homeowners are required to join.

Dawson County

Property tax, homestead, permits, septic and schools are county business: the Tax Assessor, the Community Development office and the school district. Lake Lanier docks are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’: see Lake Lanier at Chestatee.

Which Chestatee?

The name is shared. Chestatee, Georgia, is an unincorporated community in Forsyth County, and the Dawson County library is a branch of the Chestatee Regional Library System. Neither is the golf community.
